Labor Day trains set at Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City

Family fun is just around the bend as Labor Day approaches in the Reno-Tahoe territory.

The 1905 Steam Locomotive No. 25 highlights the Labor Day weekend celebration at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City. The historic Virginia and Truckee train will carry passengers on 30-minute trips departing every 45 minutes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday through Monday, Aug. 30 through Sept. 1. The museum’s Jacobsen Interpretive Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Adult tickets are $8; children 12 to 17 are $8, and members and ages 4 to 12 are $4. Children 3 and younger are free. Trains leave from, and return to, the Wabuska Depot, 2180 S. Carson St. For information, contact (775) 687-6953 or go to museums.NevadaCulture.org.
