Dayton woman is charged with murdering her husband

DAYTON — A Dayton woman has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of her husband.

Lyon County sheriff’s deputies say they arrested Kristyn Verdun after they responded to reports of a shooting at a Dayton home on Gordon Lane about 11 p.m. Sunday.

They found her husband, Robert Verdun, in a bathroom with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was taken to a Reno hospital, where he later died.

Kristyn Verdun was being held Wednesday in the Lyon County Jail. Her initial court appearance is pending and it’s not clear if she has a lawyer.

No other information has been released.
