A 49-year-old inmate who was serving time in Carson City’s prison has died in the hospital.
Officials with the Nevada Department of Corrections say Michael Doane died Monday at the Regional Medical Facility at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center.
Prison officials say he was suffering a chronic medical condition. An autopsy is planned.
Doane was convicted in Lyon County of sexual assault of a victim under the age 14 and lewdness with a child under 14. He’d been in prison since 2011.
