Paper takes next step away from Mondays

We all know that Nevada Appeal has not published its newspaper on Mondays for quite a while, but I was surprised to see you’ve completely done away with Monday altogether! Check out the five-day forecast in the Sunday, Feb. 9 newspaper. Hope you bring Monday back to us some day soon!

The danger isn’t Obama; it’s our clueless voters

The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the lack of sense and irrational conduct of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the king of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their king. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president — twice, no less!

The same wording/presentation can be applied to another, Harry Reid, who represents Nevada as senator. He is partially credited with naming the GOP the party of “No.” A pile of bills sent to the Senate from the House sit on his desk (or trash basket), unread. There are no debates, consideration or collaboration. It’s “our way or the highway.”

Again, this situation exists due to the voters looking for the (D), (R), etc. following the candidates name. Reid and Obama are political pals pushing their own agenda and to hell with the needs of the citizenry. Forget what party you are affiliated and get government out of our private lives.
