Inmate serving life for 1995 killing dies

A Nevada inmate serving a life sentence for a 1995 killing in Las Vegas has died.

The Department of Corrections says 79-year-old Henry Foggy died Thursday of a medical condition at the infirmary at Northern Nevada Medical Center in Carson City. An autopsy is pending.

He is the second inmate to die this week and is the latest in a string of deaths in recent months.

Foggy was convicted of first-degree murder for the August 1995 shooting death of 53-year-old Franklin Brown. Brown had borrowed a car from Foggy but didn’t return it on time. When he finally showed up, he was shot once in the chest with a .38-caliber pistol and died just outside Foggy’s doorway.

Foggy also had previous murder and rape convictions.
