The Presbyterian picnic was a success at Mr. and Mrs. Thorn’s ranch. On the one hand was the thoughtfulness of home economy with its lavish profusions of cold chicken sandwiches, ice cream and lemonade ... and the limitless bounty of nature with its wealth of shade, fragrance of springing grass and growing buds along with a perennial melody of birds. The picnic was a success and nobody is more commended than that earnest man and most faithful and excellent pastor, Rev. James Woods.

The bill for the admission of Utah has passed both Houses of Congress and will doubtless receive the president’s approval. Hopefully, this will end all controversy about the annexation of the Territory to Nevada ...

Aviation flight training will be available in many of Nevada’s high schools according to Miss Mildred Bray, state superintendent of public instruction.

Training will be available if there are more than 10 boys in the school, 17 or more years of age.

Bruce Pozzi, son of Mrs. JohnD Winters and Archie Pozzi, joined 600 college students as they sailed to a port in France and then went to Brazil, Belgium and Ireland. Mr. Pozzi will be a senior student this fall at the University of Nevada in Reno ... Pozzi has paid all his own expenses for the trip. He has been employed part-time by the Gazette-Journal.
