The fifth annual $25,000 International Hunter Derby, sponsored by the MacLean Family and Franktown Meadows will commence Aug. 1-2 in Carson City. The event includes the new $2,500 Pre-Green Incentive Program sponsored by Sonoma Valley Stables, as well as the $2,500 National Hunter Derby sponsored by Maplewood Stables, Inc.
Aug. 2 features the exciting $25,000 International Hunter Derby beginning at 1 p.m. During the weekend spectators will enjoy a champagne brunch, shopping at the promenade of shops, a calcutta auction, and the calling of hounds signaling the beginning of the derby. Over the last five years more than 1,300 people have attended the unique Northern Nevada event. The 2014 Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby weekend will benefit the Food Bank of Northern Nevada and tickets may be purchased through Franktown Meadows at www.fmhunterderby.com.
