A stargazing tour guided by professional stargazer and astronomy instructor Gigi Giles is July 25 at Spooner Lake State Park.

High-powered telescopes and astronomical binoculars will be provided to view the skies from an elevation of 7,000 feet.

Participants should meet in the upper parking lot at 8:30 p.m.

The event is open to the public, but there is a $10 per vehicle entry fee. Nevada residents receive a $2 discount.

Pets are not recommended. Organizers advise wearing comfortable shoes and to bring a warm jacket and a flashlight.
