Fuji Dog Park closing briefly for fair

Fuji Dog Park will close to the public as a dog park during the Nevada Sesquicentennial Fair in Carson City, also known as the NV150 Fair.

The fair runs July 30-Aug. 3 and the dog park closure will be from Monday, July 28 through Tuesday, Aug. 5, according to Scott Fahrenbruch, deputy director of the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.

“We will reopen the dog park on Wednesday, Aug. 6,” Fahrenbruch said in a news release. “We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and during this time we encourage you to visit and enjoy one of our many other ‘dog friendly’ park facilities.”

He listed them as: Long Ranch Park, Longview Way and Waterford Drive, where dogs can be on or off leash in designated areas; Sonoma Park, 1003 Sonoma St., with dogs on or off leash; Ronald D. Wilson Memorial Park, Mark Way and James Drive, on leash only; Riverview Park Trails, East Fifth Street and Marsh Road, on or off leash; Blackwells Pond Park, Northridge Drive and Spooner Drive, on or off leash; Steinheimer Park, Ridgecrest Drive and Oxbow Lane, on or off leash; Treadway Park, 1110 N. Minnesota St., on leash only; V&T Multi-Use Path, Murphy Drive and Ash Canyon Road, on or off leash.
