Chemicals supplier widens sales

Sunrise Environmental Scientific has been doing just fine for nearly 40 years, manufacturing and selling about 500 chemical products to industrial, institutional and governmental clients.

But almost no one in the Reno-Sparks market knows the company.

The second generation of family ownership of the company has launched an initiative to raise the profile of Sunrise Environmental Scientific by opening a couple of new sales channels.

With 45 employees, the company manufactures and distributes chemicals for a wide variety of industrial applications, everything from degreasers to window cleaners to graffiti removers.

Working primarily with customers in the West, the company has successfully relied on a network of independent sales representatives it was launched by Bernard Tolotti in 1975.

As brothers Justin and Ryan Tolotti take a larger role in the company, they’re opening a storefront location at Sunrise Environmental’s facility at 850 Industrial Way.

Along with the retail location, they’re experimenting with a mobile store in a van — think Snap-on tools for industrial chemicals — to visit sites in the Reno-Sparks market.

The goal of both new sales channels, Justin Tolotti says, is to provide increased convenience to customers and raise the company’s profile in its home markets.

That’s particularly important, he says, because customers typically need to see Sunrise Environmental’s products and talk with a sales representative before they make a purchase.
