Preaching letter shouldn’t meet Appeal’s standards

This is in reference to the letter to the editor published March 19. Other letters of the same emotional tone and content written by Rosalee Barnwell Hinton have been published before. Really, what does this say? You receive so few letters to the editors that when you went to choose one for today this is the only one you had? The editor(s) have the same view point and want to be sure the public gets the message?

Honestly, this individual needs a pulpit to preach from and like-minded people to attend to hear her. I am sure she has had a life-changing event in her life that makes her feel this way. But we all walk our own paths in life and as long as the path leads to a better person, a better life, and a better world, they are all correct. No one has the right to tell others this is the only way.

Who’s going to pay huge federal tax bill? You are

Obama’s executive orders Star Tribunal cartoon in the March 16 Appeal about minimum wage and overtime pay may suggest that he is altruistic. If you believe that I’ve some prime oceanfront property in Elko I’d like to sell you.

The government takes 22 percent out of every dollar someone is paid. That means that for every billion, 222 million goes to Washington. If you wonder who’s going to pay this, look in the mirror.
