Las Vegas artist Justin Favela will present an illustrated talk at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the BRIC, 108 E Proctor St.

The presentation entitled “We Might Should Could” is part of Capital City Arts Initiative’s Nevada Neighbors series. The event is free.

An informal reception will take place at 6:15 p.m.

In “We Might Should Could,” Favela will discuss his artwork that draws from art history, popular culture, and his Latino heritage. Favela is a Las Vegas native working in the mediums of painting, sculpture, and performance.

As part of his CCAI visit, he will give his talk to art students and faculty at Douglas High School and at Sierra Nevada College. This summer, CCAI will bring him back for a residency and exhibition of his work in the annual collaboration with St. Mary’s Art Center in Virginia City.
