Library elevator fix is in works

The Carson City Library elevator is undergoing repair work, according to library Director Sena Loyd.

Repair work began at mid-week and should be completed by the end of next week at the latest, she said. Loyd said she was hopeful it actually would be finished earlier in the week.

The library is undergoing various changes, including moving out the browser’s book nook for purchasers just inside the front door so it and the auditorium area behind it can be transformed into what library staff refers to as a “digitorium” using technology for research and other uses.

The elevator has been down for some time.
