35 WNC nursing grads honored at pinning ceremony

Western Nevada College recognized 35 associate degree nursing graduates during its traditional pinning ceremony on May 19 at the Carson Nugget Convention Center.

In addition to the traditional pinning ceremony, the college recognized students for their achievements in the program.

Karissa Parra and Kelsey Selfridge shared the Academic Award; Elivette Zambrano and Svetlana Chashchina were co-winners of the Spirit of Nursing Award; Ila Bottoms received the Nevada Student Nurse of Achievement Award; Stacy Melhus and Ashley Daw each earned a share of the Associated Students of Western Nevada Award; and the National Student Nursing Association Outstanding Student Awards went to Rebecca Cornell, Carol Apodaca, Jenna Chaney and Danielle Hemerson.

Nurse of Distinction awards went to Julie Kerulf, Renown Regional Medical Center; Lesley Brown, Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center; and Crystal McNally, Carson Tahoe Health.

Fallon: Seron Bake, Jennifer Magana.
