Carson City health inspections

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Nov. 3. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Port of Subs, 3721 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

FISH Family Dining, 138 E. Long St., 96 points. There were rodent droppings in a corner in the dry storage room.

Antojitos el Guero, 316 E. Winnie Lane, 93 points. Residential equipment was found in the establishment. Both hand sinks in the men and women restrooms were missing paper towels. A certified food handler was not on duty.

Kei Sushi, 3220 E. Highway 50, Suite 4, 90 points. The reach-in refrigerator in the kitchen and prep area was at 60 degrees. The temperature did not recover after 15 minutes. Food temperatures inside the unit were not proper. The mercury columns in several thermometers were broken in the kitchen reach-in and one in the sushi reach-in. Boxes of food were stored on the floor in the walk-in.

An ice scoop was buried in the ice inside the main ice machine, corrected on site. There was substantial dust accumulation on the shelving opposite the make-up unit in the mid-kitchen area. The shelving at the entrance of the sushi bar was dirty with food debris. Curtains dragging on the floor. There was no certified food handler on duty.
