Will justices recuse themselves on gay marriage?

On Sept. 20, Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan officiated a same-sex marriage for her former law clerk and his partner.

The constitutionality of same-sex marriage will soon be before the United States Supreme Court. Will Justice Kagan do the ethical thing and recuse herself when this issue is before the court? Will Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who has also officiated in a same-sex marriage, also recuse herself?

Idea: no headgear in convenience stores

Every day we see a news story about a convenience store being robbed somewhere. We see similar video footage at each event. The perpetrators all wear hoodies, baseball caps or ski masks to hide their identity.

Here’s a suggestion to convenience store owners nationwide: put up signage outside your establishment which reads “No headgear of any type is allowed inside this store.

This includes baseball caps, hoodies, ski caps, skull caps, hats of any type, head bands and anything else one might place upon one’s head. If you enter the premises with any of the forementioned headgear, you will be treated as if you have criminal intent.”

This should also make law-abiding citizens feel a little better when they enter a convenience store at midnight to get a half-gallon of milk knowing the other patrons probably aren’t going to rob the place.
