Is the new Green asphalt?

I read with interest the Sept. 25 news article in the Nevada Appeal regarding the assistance Carson City is getting from the Environmental Protection Agency as part of its “Greening America’s Capitols” program.

Apparently the EPA will assist in the work to be done as part of the “improvements” along William and Carson streets. Maybe it is just me, but doesn’t it seem odd that there was no mention of the fact that numerous trees, bushes and flowers will be plowed under to be replaced by three lanes of road on Carson street?

Kind of reminds me of the old Counting Crows song Big Yellow Taxi. One of the lyrics to that song was, “They paved Paradise and put up a parking lot.” I guess the new Green is asphalt. Just saying ....

Replace supervisors with new ones

Now is the time to show the supervisors that we are not happy with them for the way they waste our tax dollars.

The streets in most of the town are in bad shape. Take a ride on Little Lane for a prime example of this.

When you go to vote, take a friend or two with you, and remember how these supervisors want to spend more of our tax dollars.

We need to replace the supervisors with new ones and hope they will do a better job.

Taxpayers, please get out and vote. Thank you!
