Wind advisory, fire weather watch issued for Tuesday

A wind advisory and fire weather watch are in effect for Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service Reno.

Peak wind gusts are expected to be 46 mph in Carson City. Winds could reach 55-65 mph in wind prone areas with winds up to 100 mph on the Sierra ridges.

The weather service says the wind with low humidity could create critical fire conditions.

The NWS also recommends securing outdoor Halloween decorations.
