Mt. Rose repaving begins this week

Roadway grinding and repaving at the top of the Mount Rose Highway begins this Friday.

The $10 million contract will repave the roadway form Timberline Drive to the Mount Rose summit.

An NDOT spokesman said the work will be done both night and day Sunday evenings through Friday afternoons and is scheduled to be completed by early October.

Project engineer Shane Cocking asked that motorists be patient with crews as they try finish the job as quickly and safely as possible.

The repaving work was completed on the lower section of the highway in July.
