Nevada Legislature: Senate passes bill banning misleading Spanish ads

State Senate passes bill cracking down on misleading Spanish ads

Nevada senators have passed a bill that would crack down on advertising that can be misleading to Spanish-speakers seeking immigration help.

The state Senate voted 21-0 on Thursday to approve SB401. The bill now heads to the Assembly. The bill adds the term “licenciado” to the list of banned words because it can be confused with a Spanish term for lawyer.
