The Nevada State Museum is seeking volunteers to assist in the gift shop. Duties include: helping customers, conducting sales, preparing merchandise and responding to mail orders. Contact Lauren Jones for more information.

CASA Foster Kids Closet of Carson City is seeking volunteers to help organize clothing for abused and neglected children. This opportunity can be physically demanding and requires some lifting. CASA is looking for real team players on a long term basis.

RSVP is in need of volunteer drivers to transport local seniors and adults with disabilities to important medical appointments and errands.

Volunteers are needed to tutor for various organizations teaching ESL as well as English literacy. Opportunities include both children and adult tutoring. Come make a difference in a person’s life today. Please contact Lauren Jones for more information.

Pets of the Homeless in Carson City is seeking a volunteer with professional phone skills and computer experience. This volunteer opportunity involves conversing with Pets of the Homeless volunteers across the U.S. USDA is partnering with Friends in Service Helping (FISH) to offer food distribution to low income individuals and families in the Carson area every other month. Next distribution will be from 9 to 11 a.m. May 15 at the Carson City Community Center. Volunteers are needed the third Friday of every other month from 8 to 11 a.m. to help with sign-ups and food distribution.

All volunteers receive orientation and training. Also, volunteers can receive out-of-pocket expenses such as mileage reimbursement and are covered by several insurances.
