Tahoe Rim Trail backcountry camps coming up

The Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) is hosting its annual Tahoe Rim Trail Backcountry Camps which are going to be held near Armstrong Pass on Aug. 14 through Aug. 16 and Aug. 28 through Aug. 30. Volunteers are still needed for the second camp on Aug. 28 and 30 so register today.

The Tahoe Rim Trail Association has been hosting backcountry camps for more than 25 years. It’s a tradition at the TRTA and a great way to meet new people, work up a sweat, and enjoy a few nights out under the stars. At this year’s camp the TRTA will maintain trail between Star Lake and Armstrong Pass. Participants will camp out, work hard, enjoy great food prepared by our camp chefs, and get to experience a camp camaraderie that will be unlike any other.

If you want to learn new skills, meet other trail enthusiasts, and give back to your community, join the TRTA for a backcountry camp. The TRTA is seeking volunteers to assist with a variety of trail work projects ranging in difficulty. Projects will consist of more technical rock work as well as basic trail tread maintenance and brushing.

Come take a mini volunteer vacation with us. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to participate — with no prior experience necessary. Can’t make it for one of our backcountry camps? Join us for a workday. Volunteer workdays will take place most Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays until October.

Registration is open.
