SILVER DOLLARS AND WOODEN NICKELS: Carson City leading trail in quality of life

The Nevada Appeal’s Silver Dollars & Wooden Nickels feature recognizes achievements from the capital region and, when warranted, points out other acts that missed the mark.

SILVER DOLLAR: Just one of many examples of how much Carson City residents care about their quality of life was demonstrated last week in the dedication ceremony for the Kings Canyon/Waterfall Trailhead. All those involved in making the trailhead deserve recognition.

SILVER DOLLAR: More examples of the quality of life Carson City enjoys was demonstrated Friday and Saturday with the Brews, Bikes and Bubbly event to benefit Nevada Day and the Carson City Sheriff’s Extreme Officer Motor Training Challenge. And there was also the Karson Kruzers Run What Cha Brung Car Show as well, so everyone involved with those events deserve recognition.

SILVER DOLLAR: To all those involved in the Dream Flights event at the Carson City Airport that gave an opportunity to senior citizens and veterans to go up in a restored plane for a ride around Carson City.

The event was put on by Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation, a non-profit out of Carson City. The foundation paired with Skyline Estates Senior Living to bring senior citizens in Carson City the “flight of a lifetime.”
