Cheers & Kudos: Austin’s House thankful for community support

The Board of Directors, staff and children of Austin’s House would like to thank the entire community for the tremendous support of our 2014 Appeal For Kids and 2015 Cowboy Mardi Gras fundraisers.

The 2014 Appeal For Kids ended on Jan. 31, and our generous community surprised us once again. We exceeded our goal for the second consecutive year.

The Cowboy Mardi Gras fundraiser on Feb. 27 was a sellout. Thanks to your generosity, the evening was a rousing success. Everyone had a great time for a great cause!

Every dollar raised will be used to pay for operating expenses at Austin’s House. This was just another fine example of our wonderful citizens donating to help our local children in crisis.

There are so many individuals and businesses to thank that it would exceed the allowable letter size and surely I would leave off a deserving name. You are all so kind to this worthy cause. It is very gratifying to see our community come together to help local children in crisis. We could never thank you enough.

We would like to recognize three of our major donors. First is Patty Clark, owner of Century 21 Clark Properties and founder of the Austin Kirby Foundation. Patty presented us with a check for $35,000 at the Cowboy Mardi Gras. The Austin Kirby Foundation is the largest single donor for Austin’s House. The nonprofit emergency shelter home is named in honor of Patty’s grandson, Austin Kirby.

The Cowboy Mardi Gras had two major sponsors this year. The Gold Sponsor was Carson City Toyota Scion. Thank you, Dana Whaley. The Silver Sponsor was Frontier Communications. Thank you, Marcy Fox.

I am truly honored to live in our beautiful Carson Valley with such generous neighbors. Austin’s House was built entirely with donations, and your continued support keeps our beautiful facility open. Thank you very much!

Conrad Buedel

President of Austin’s House Board of Directors
