Military achievements: Carson High grad excels in UNR officer training program

Jordan M. Nash, a 2008 graduate of Carson High School and former student body president, has been appointed the top ranking cadet for the University of Nevada Reno Reserved Officer Training Corps Nash will hold the rank of Battalion Commander through May 2016.

At a recent award ceremony, Nash received the Wisham Leadership Award & Scholarship. He is scheduled to train this summer at Fort Irwin in Death Valley and also at Fort Knox in Kentucky. He plans on graduating from UNR in speech communication next May, when he will be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army.

Nash is the son of Wayne and Tami Nash of Carson City.
