Carson City health inspections

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Oct. 28. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

99 Cents Only, 2080 E. William St., scored 100 points.

Domino’s Pizza, 3231 E. Highway 50, scored 100 points.

La Enchilada, 557 S. Saliman Road, scored 100 points.

Lifestream Health Foods, 101 Hot Springs Road, Suite 1A, scored 100 points.

Los Caporales Catering Truck, mobile food vehicle, scored 100 points.

Slotworld, Betsy’s Cafe, 3879 E. Highway 50, scored 98 points. The mop sink area and floors in the walk-in refrigerator and near the water heater needed to be cleaned.

King of Kings, mobile food vehicle, scored 96 points. Hot food was at 133 degrees. Chlorine in the sanitizer bucket was less than 50 parts per million. Window screens above the cooking area were dirty.

Los Caporales Supermarket, take out, 1621 E. Highway 50, Suite G, scored 95 points. Some food was not properly labeled or covered. Refrigerators needed to be cleaned. Floors under the steam tables were dirty.

Peg’s Glorified Ham N Eggs, 3697 S. Carson St., scored 93 points. The chlorine residual in the dishwasher was less than 50 parts per million, the minimum level required; corrected on site. A home style microwave was in use. Garbage storage container lids were open. The door of the employee bathroom was left open.

Los Caporales Supermarket, 1621 E. Highway 50, Suite G, scored 90 points. A large gap was noted at the bottom of the rear entry door. Bulk foods, some of which were stored on the floor along with canned goods, were not properly labeled. Garbage storage container lids were open. Trash was strewn around the waste storage area. Floors in the stock storage rooms needed to be cleaned.

Los Caporales Supermarket, bakery, 1621 E. Highway 50, Suite G, scored 88 points. A can of insect spray was found on a food storage shelf, corrected on site. Bulk foods were not properly labeled. Desserts stored in the refrigerator were not covered. The hand wash sink was missing paper towels. Floors behind equipment and in hard-to-reach areas were dirty.

Los Caporales Supermarket, meat, 1621 E. Highway 50, Suite 8, scored 88 points. The three-compartment sink sanitizing rinse was at 10 parts per million, corrected on site. Some food was not properly covered, dated and labeled. A beverage bottle was stored in the ice machine, corrected on site. The meat slicer and walk-in refrigerators and freezers needed to be cleaned.
