Chick-fil-A planning Reno location

Chick-fil-A, a popular fast-food chain based out of Georgia, is in the early stages of opening a store at the former Marie Callender’s location on the corner of Kietzke Lane and S. McCarrarn Boulevard.

The restaurant proposes to demolish the building that has sat vacant since Marie Callender’s closed.

In a special use permit filed with the City of Reno, Chick-fil-A plans a 4,529-square-foot building including a drive-thru area and seating for 122.

The restaurant intends to be open from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, but will be closed Sundays. The centerpiece of the chain’s menu is its chicken sandwich. The business serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

According to the permit filed with the city, the restaurant plans to hire 35 to 45 employees once it’s up and running.
