A forum on climate and extreme weather events in Nevada will feature four expert panelists at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City Tuesday.

The event, put on by Sierra Nevada Forums, is planned at the BAC Performance Hall, 511 W. King St., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the presentation beginning a half hour later. The forum is free, but donations are accepted, and additional information is available at www.SierraNevadaForums.com.

The panelists: Michael Dettinger, a U.S. Geological Survey research hydrologist and research scientist at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR); Doug Boyle, a UNR associate professor and the state climatologist who’s on the Governor’s Drought Commission; Kelly Redmond, deputy director and regional climatologist dealing with weather possibilities in Nevada; and Chris Smallcomb, National Weather Service, Reno, a warning coordinator meteorologist.

The forum is called “El Nino, the Blob, the Drought & Ark Storms.”
