Reno’s newest fine-dining restaurant, Feast, is now open for business.

The restaurant offers a selection of American-style cuisine. Located in the former Jack Bacon building on 516 South Virginia St., it has been fully remodeled to create a high-end restaurant.

Mother-and-son team Esmeralda and Alex Long, are the co-owners of Feast. They are also the previous owners of the Reno breakfast and lunch establishment called The Little House on Center Street.

“The name Feast, came from us tossing around names for the longest time. We were considering going from The Little House to The Little Building,” co-owners Alex and Esmeralda Long said in a press release. “Then, one day a friend said: ‘why not call it Feast or Famine?’ We thought about it and well, feast is good and famine is not, so we left out the bad and went with the good.”

The owners acquired the building in February of 2015. They renovated the building, which had been used as an art gallery prior, and added a commercial kitchen to the building along with a patio area and new parking lot.

The 2,000-square-foot restaurant seats approximately 55 people with additional outside seating on the patio during the warmer months.

Local artists produced all of the artwork in the restaurant. Photographer Luke Lord took all of the photos that are hanging on the walls and Tom Tallon made the metal art piece in the center of the wall. The brick walls and dark wood provide character to the new restaurant.

“It will be different from other restaurants,” Alex said. “This room has this vibrancy with the all cars and people going by.”

Alex and Esmeralda hired Joseph Bell as the chef of Feast. Bell is a former chef at the Davenport Hotel in Seattle and The Wild River Grille.

Feast offers American-style dishes such as Pistachio-crusted halibut, thinly sliced wild boar skewers with berry teriyaki sauce and salmon draped in dill and caper pan sauce and more.

Customers can order off of the restaurant’s regular menu or off the preset Feast Menu. The latter includes three small appetizers, soup, salad, an entree, which is paired with wine, and dessert for $75 per person.

“(Our guests) don’t have to decide; we choose for them,” Alex said about the Feast meal.

The Feast Menu will rotate to provide customers with new dishes throughout the year.

The restaurant held its official grand opening Thursday, Nov. 19. The restaurant will be open for dinner from Tuesday through Thursday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday through Saturday 5 p.m. to close; and Sunday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Feast is closed on Mondays.

Starting in December, Feast will open for lunch at 11 a.m. and brunch on the weekends at 9 a.m. For more information, visit FeastReno.com or call 775-686-6969 to make reservations.
