Virginia sailors help control weeds at Nevada State Prison

Glen Whorton, president of the Nevada State Prison Preservation Society, welcomes 13 sailors from Carrier Air Wing Three of Virginia Beach, Virginia, to the Nevada State Prison on Saturday. The crew performs volunteer work when training at the Naval Air Station Fallon. This is the first time they have been to Carson City and after the historical tour, worked on weed abatement. The group will be back in Carson City next weekend to perform repairs at the Brewery Arts Center and construct a fence at the historic burial grounds of Civil War soldiers at Fuji Park.
