Batmobile to be featured in Nevada Day Parade

The Batmobile will again be featured in the Nevada Day Parade as the Carson Nugget again will have plenty of activities planned for Nevada’s birthday Saturday, Oct. 31.

A 1966 Batmobile replica will again appear in the Nevada Day Parade, which will begin at 10 a.m. on Carson Street. The Batmobile will be entry No. 46 and will start at E. Long St.

Other events to be held Saturday, Oct. 31 include:

More than 400 runners and walkers will participate in the annual Nevada Day Classic 8K Run and 2 Mile Run/Walk. Proceeds will benefit Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Registration for the event will be held at 6 a.m. with a breakfast at 8 a.m.

The 34th annual Nevada Day Chili Feed will be hosted by Senator Dean Heller and will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Carson Nugget Ballroom.

The tradition of Bloody Marys on Nevada Day will continue as Alatte’s will provide a Bloody Mary Bar and Patio. Hot dogs, coffee, hot chocolate and a wine bar will also be feaured.

On Saturday, Oct. 31, the Nugget’s coffee shop will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and th Alatte Patio will open at 8 a.m.

The Nugget’s Steakhouse will open early on Nevada Day and will serve a special menu created by executive chef David Sellars. The steakhouse will be oepn from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31.

The Nugget’s Deli will also be open all day long, offering sandwiches and grab-and-go items as the deli will be open for 24 hours Saturday, Oct. 31.

The City Center Hotel on Carson Street also has 83 rooms, including two suites, a workout room and meeting space available. Space is limited, so reservations for Nevada Day activities should be made soon.
