Nevada continues to experience a severe shortage of health care providers throughout our state, and National Health Service Corps (NHSC) helps recruit health professionals where they are needed most.
From primary care physicians, nurses and dentists, to licensed clinical social workers, psychiatrists, and certified midwives, NHSC provides loan repayment and scholarship funding to improve health care access from Las Vegas, Reno and Elko, to Pahrump, Winnemucca and Ely.

“This is a great opportunity for Nevada to build our health professional workforce and improve health outcomes for Nevadans, while leveraging federal funds. Currently, there are just 64 NHSC providers in Nevada, and we hope to build our participation to hundreds,” said Primary Care Office (PCO) Manager, Laura Hale. The PCO serves as Nevada’s liaison for NHSC programs.
Events are being planned throughout the state at Universities and Colleges, as well as clinical and health care locations, with employers, students, and health professionals.
