Carson City health inspections for Sept. 3

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Sept. 3. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Carson Aerie, 1380 E. Fifth St., scored 100 points.

Empire Elementary School, 1260 Monte Rosa St., scored 100 points.

Fremont Elementary School, 1511 Firebox Road, scored 100 points.

Genoa Candy and Coffee, 4600 Snyder Ave., Suite C, scored 100 points.

Glen Eagles, bar, 3700 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Hampton Inn & Suites, continental breakfast, 10 Hospitality Way, scored 100 points.

Save Mart Supermarkets, meat, 3325 E. Highway 50, scored 100 points.

Seeliger Elementary School, 2800 S. Saliman Road, scored 100 points.

Tahoe Tenderloins, mobile food vehicle, scored 100 points.

Glen Eagles, restaurant, 3700 N. Carson St., scored 99 points. Kitchen equipment needed to be cleaned.

Gold Dust West, The Grille, 2171 E. Highway 50, scored 99 points. There was dust buildup on the walls and ceiling above and behind the grill line. The wall and rim of the floor sink needed to be cleaned.

Sierra Tortilla, 3579 E. Highway 50, scored 98 points. A staff member wasn’t wearing gloves while handling tortillas.

Wally’s Pizza & Subs, 4600 Snyder Ave., Suite D, scored 98 points. Pizza sauce was being improperly cooled, corrected on site.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, 3250 Retail Drive, scored 97 points. The handle of a scoop was found in ready-to-eat potato salad. Food buildup was found under the handles of a refrigerator. The floor sink under the customer soda dispenser was dirty.

Panaderia el Trigal, 3189 E. Highway 50, scored 97 points. There were no paper towels in the dispenser at the kitchen hand sink or in the employee bathroom, corrected on site.

Tip Top Amusements, 1990 S. Roop St., scored 96 points. A door was damaged; a gap between the door and ground allowed the entry of animals.

China Chef, 3135 E. Highway 50, scored 88 points. Food was found at room temperature. The back door needed to be sealed to prevent the entry of animals. The soda machine was dirty. The ice scoop was not properly stored. Mouse traps were found on food contact surfaces. Equipment and floors needed to be cleaned.
