Nevada Appeal at 150: Dec. 18, 1915: President Wilson marries Edith Galt

Washington, Dec. 18 — Though today is the president’s wedding day, it failed to change his routine work. He was at this office early, clearing up unfinished business preparatory to a honeymoon of a fortnight.

Mrs. Galt spent a part of the day directing preparations for the wedding supper. The destination of the honeymoon is still a secret. Only a private secretary will accompany the bridal couple.

This afternoon the president called at the Galt home. At noon little Ellen McAdoo was christened at the White House, the president standing as godfather.

This continues the Appeal’s review of news stories and headlines during its Sesquicentennial year.
