The fraud of false pretense

In the “no spin zone” on Sept. 8 I watched as Bill O’Reilly try again and again to wrest a political evaluation out of Charles Krauthammer regarding Colin Powell’s double-cross of the Republican Party by consigning President Obama’s capitulation to Iran’s nuclear deal demands. For whatever reason, Krauthammer mummed up and refused to critique Powell. O’Reilly said that he was “disturbed” by Powell’s endorsement.

Indeed, the entire Republican Party should be “disturbed.” You will recall that Powell went against the interests of Republican principles to vote for the presidency of Barack Obama — twice! Now he is singing the praises of the “Black Lives Matter” movement.

Except in name only, Colin Powell is not a Republican. For all practical purposes, he is a Democrat. The GOP leadership and every member of the party should repudiate Powell’s counterfeit claim that he is a Republican.
