Religion briefs: Carson City’s First Baptist to hold Missions Conference

First Baptist sets missions conference

First Baptist Church, 1750 Mountain St., Carson City, will hold a Missions Conference April 8-10.

The conference will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 8, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9 and 9:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, April 10. The conference will conclude with a fellowship meal at noon Sunday. A continental breakfast will also be served Saturday morning.

Friday’s speakers will include Pastor Randy Roser from The Bridge, who will speak on local missions; and a presentation on foreign missions.

Saturday’s speakers will include Stephen Narwold, who will speak on New Tribes Mission, Dr. Dan Iles, who will speak on Indigenous Ministries and Chase Ward, who will facilitate a symposium.

On Sunday, Sunday School will be held at 9:30 a.m. with the guest speakers leading lessons. Then the 10:45 a.m. service will featured Iles, speaking on “In Light of Christ’s Return, ‘Why Missions?’”

The public is invited and the conference is free.
