Nevada gas prices at $2.45 a gallon

Gas prices are on the rise, but still lower than last year.

The average gas price jumped 2 cents per gallon in Nevada in the past week, averaging $2.45 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 1,130 gas outlets in the state.

That is 17.1 cents higher than a month ago, but 34 cents lower than the same day a year ago.

The national average increased 6.9 cents per gallon to $2.11.

According to GasBuddy historical data, gasoline prices on April 18 in Nevada have ranged widely over the last five years, from a high of $3.89 per gallon in 2011 to $2.79 per gallon in 2015.

The Associated Press reported U.S. crude oil was trading $1.88 lower at $38.48 a barrel by mid-afternoon in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It sank to a low of $37.61 a barrel, down 6.8 percent, before regaining some of that loss.
