Removal of the fire tower. The members of the Carson Fire Department are requested to be at the old house of the Warren Engine Company at 8 o’clock this morning to assist in the removal of the fire bell and tower to the new house of the Warren’s on Second Street.

About noon yesterday a fire was discovered in T.B. Rickey’s house and an alarm was sounded, Matt Brannan who was close by rushed into the house and found fires in several different rooms, he stamped out what he could, and the fire companies did the balance. Investigation showed that old rags had been soaked in coal oil and fired. A man from China, who was a resident of the house and in Chinatown at the time, was charged with the fire, but all his possessions were in the house and he is devoted to Rickey. Another fire was discovered and put out at 7 p.m. Members of the anti-Chinese league were posted as guards. Judge Gaige has called a commission to investigate.

The reports of the death of Villa and the discernment of his body are entirely unconfirmed by the officials in Chihuahua. Today General Guiterrez told the United Press correspondent that he had no information of Villa’s whereabouts and if he is dead or alive.

Observers feel that delegations of various sportsman’s clubs may have bitten off more than they can chew when meeting in Fallon next month when they “write a bill to change conditions” of fish and game in this state.

Carson City author and newspaper columnist Basil Woon’s syndicated feature, “The World and Basil Woon,” is on a flying trip to Europe. During this past winter Woon completed his latest book, “You Can’t See It All.”
