‘Ciao’ from Italy

Now this week I’m sharing

Just where I have been.

We flew to Italy

Unfurled our sails to the wind.

We took a clipper ship

With five masts, oh so tall

Went to 10 ports in the Mediterranean

We had a ball!

The cruise it was great.

The food, oh so good.

Trying not to eat too much

No more than we should.

On our return

We traveled about.

From Rome, to Florence to Venice

We walked quite a lot.

The Pantheon, Coliseum

The artists are there

Leonardo’s fine “David”

17 feet in the air.

Then it was Venice

A gondola ride

Oh, the Grand Canal

Our Pie in the sky.

Then off to Lake Como

Varenna, to be exact.

Cruising its fine shores

I might never come back.

Now we finished our trip

In Milan, don’t you know

The Duomo and Last Supper

By Michelangelo.

It was quite a trip.

Oh, the sites we did see

Culture and artists and antiquity.

I’ll sum it right up

I hate to be a bore.

I’m happy to be in Carson City

Home, sweet home once more.
