The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA) announced the addition of new staff members

Nathan Fillion was hired as a National Convention Sales Manager on July 25. The position is responsible for effectively reaching the sales targets and objectives of the RSCVA. Fillion has 10 years of experience, including five years as a National Sales Manager for Courtyard by Marriott Mission Valley and Kona Kai Resort and Spa located in San Diego.

Also hired as a National Convention Sales Manager, Don Goodman was hired on August 22. He is responsible for selling the Reno, Sparks and North Lake Tahoe area as a convention destination to meeting and convention planners. Goodman has more than 20 years of experience in sales, and has worked with Atlantis Resort Casino Spa, Circus Circus Reno and Eldorado Casino Resort.

Debbi Engebritson filled the position of a Marketing Manager for the RSCVA on August 22. Engebritson is responsible for creating, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans for the RSCVA. She coordinated special events and managed marketing efforts for Circus Circus Reno for more than 30 years.

Tawnie Black has assumed the duties of Executive Assistant to the CEO and Board position as of September 1. She provides administrative support to RSCVA’s CEO, and is responsible for documenting board meetings, committees and other activities mandated to ensure that information is provided to Board members in timely fashion. She has 32 years of administrative experience.

Possessing an MBA in Business Management, John Walker has been hired as the new Marketing Research Manager for the RSCVA. This position will allow RSCVA to design, develop and implement a complete tourism marketing research program. Walker has more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of business management. Joining the RSCVA November 7, Walker was most recently the Research Analyst for Renown Health.

Kristin McClellan was hired on November 7 as the new Marketing & Special Projects Specialist. McClellan has recent experience in interactive media and content marketing with local organizations such as Renown and Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. She oversees and manages unique projects for the RSCVA.

Beverly Borda is the agency’s new Entertainment and Ticket Office Manager. Borda has more than 25 years in box office and ticket sales experience and most recently worked at Silver Legacy Resort Casino. Her position at the RSCVA entails supervising all staff and departments related to ticketing. She was hired on November 28.

Tasha Courtney’s original hire date was February 2015 as the Marketing & Special Projects Specialist in RSCVA’s Marketing Department. She now has moved to the Sales Department to assume the role of Sales Events and Conventions Services Manager. She has been in that position since October 9. Courtney graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.
