A NHP officer investigates the scene of a 2-vehicle crash on south Carson Street on Monday afternoon.

Carson Street was temporarily closed Monday afternoon after a two-car crash at Eagle Station Lane.

The crash occurred around 4 p.m., at the intersection of the two streets in the northbound lane after a black Saturn rear ended a green Subaru. Reports came in that one of the vehicles involved had caught fire, though the flames had been extinguished before the Fire Department arrived on scene.

Minor injuries were reported to authorities, though no one was transported to the hospital.

Carson Street was closed for about an hour in the northbound lanes while crews investigated and cleared the scene; and traffic was diverted onto Eagle Station Lane.

Officials on scene did not know what caused the crash.
