Cheers & Kudos: Organizers of Feast of Chocolates thankful

Those of us who live in Carson City and the surrounding areas — Dayton, Minden, Gardnerville, Reno — realize what a beautiful area it is; surrounded by majestic mountains, beautiful blue skies for most of the year. But do we all realize how giving and supportive the businesses that make up these communities are? We, at the Carson City Branch of AAUW, American Association for University Women, do. And we are so grateful!

Each year our organization hosts the Feast of Chocolates. It is our largest fundraiser of the year. This event raises money for local scholarships (awarded to Carson High School, Dayton High School, and Western Nevada College) and the AAUW Educational Opportunities Fund. The Feast of Chocolates offers a full buffet of delicious chocolate desserts featuring a variety of treats prepared by the award winning Carson City High School Culinary Arts, a silent auction, and an array of gift baskets and certificates.

This year we wish to thank the following donors who so graciously offered gifts, baskets, and of course, a plethora of chocolates. With your contributions you are enabling a deserving student to continue their education. We thank you.

Grandma Hattie’s (John Hurzel), Red’s Old 395 Grill, Casino Fandango, Raley’s Bakery (Carson City), Annette’s Beauty Spectrum, Shear Designs, Sandi’s Jewelry Designs, Greenhouse Garden Center & Gift Shop, The Hairport, Décor and Mor, Massage Therapy by Sally Rogers, Carson Valley Inn and Casino, Gold Dust West, Liaison Salon and Day Spa, Cutting Edge, Bellismo, Bridger Mountain Boutique, and Carson High School Culinary Arts.

Thank you,

Mary L. Wilson
