Carson City road report for July 4-10

The following information applies to the period of July 4-10.

Work will continue on the Downtown Corridor improvement project on Carson Street. For details regarding traffic impacts, refer to the Cone Zone in the Nevada Appeal, or go to www.carsonproud.com. These sources are updated weekly throughout the duration of the project.

Lane closures with flagger controlled traffic are planed from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the following locations due to utility/road work:

Center Drive south of Clear Creek Avenue near Topsy Lane, Tuesday-Friday

Roads along Oak ridge Drive, Monday-Thursday

N. Ormsby Boulevard between Winnie Lane and College Parkway, Tuesday-Friday

One northbound lane of Carson Street will be closed from Fairview Drive to Stewart Street from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Road closures expected at the following locations due to utility/road work. Drivers are asked to follow detours:

Topsy Lane between Center Drive and U.S. 395 for all hours Monday-Sunday; local traffic only

Race Track Road and Bigelow Drive south of Snyder Avenue for all hours Monday-Sunday; local traffic only

Jeanell Drive between Russett Way and Michael Drive from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday

Anderson Street between Robinson and Caroline streets from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday

E. Fifth Street loop around the Korean War Memorial for all hours Monday-Sunday

Shoulder work will occur on the east side of Chaise Drive just south of the intersection with Cabrolet Drive from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

Northbound U.S. 395 between Clear Creek and Snyder avenues will be reduced from three to two lanes until July 8, excluding the holiday weekend.

Extended paving sessions on I-580 in Washoe Valley are scheduled through the next few weekends and for weekend hours to avoid impacting weekday commute travel.
