Carson woman awarded scholarship

Athena Favero of Carson City is a winner of the DCI Scholarship Program sponsored by Dialysis Clinic, Inc., a nonprofit.

Favero, the daughter of Nicholas Favero, is majoring in psychology at Brigham Young University. She’s active in track, cross country, orchestra, FBLA, National Honor Society and 4-H.

Gardnerville woman makes Dean’s List

Jocelyn Contreras of Gardnerville earned a spot on Tufts University’s spring 2016 Dean’s List. Dean’s List honors require a semester grade-point average of 3.4 or greater.

Contreras is planning to graduate in 2018. Tufts University is in Medford, Mass.

Minden man earns master’s degree

Andrew Tollefson of Minden received a Master of Science in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Rochester Institute of Technology’s College of Science in Rochester, N.Y.
