Storey County first responders honored

Walmart Distribution Center in McCarran invited first responders from the Storey County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Protection District to an appreciation luncheon on July 15. The Sheriff and three of his staff as well as half a dozen fire protection district employees were treated to some of Walmart’s meats and dessert while socializing with Walmart employees. Darius Pique, the distribution center’s general manager and a native of Baton Rouge, La., and his staff put together the idea to highlight the positive relationship the center enjoys with local public safety personnel.
