The full host of events includes the Sheriff’s Aero Squadron, VFW and the Vietnam Veterans, the Carson City Visitors Bureau, a bouncy house, face painting, paper airplane contests, various aircraft, food and drink vendors, as well as performances from local dance, tumbling and martial arts studios. Visitors can also shoot a machine gun (simulated).“The Carson City Airport is pleased and excited to announce this year’s programming for our 2016 Open House,” said Tim Rowe, Carson City Airport’s General Manager. “We will have many outstanding interactive educational opportunities for visitors such as the Charter College Youth Aviation Science Fun Zone, the University of Nevada, Reno Innevation Center Drone Zone, Nevada Pathways to Aviation and the Young Eagles to name a few. Our community is surrounded by numerous aviation and aerospace focused organizations, companies and manufacturers that are genuinely interested in educating our youth in the fields of aviation and aerospace.”

Carson City Airport and its partners are proud to offer such an outstanding, free event to our community. You won’t want to miss it,“ said Tim Rowe, Carson City Airport’s General Manager.

The purpose of the Carson City Airport Open House is to raise community awareness of the importance of aviation and aerospace for Carson City and Nevada’s economy. The economic impact of the airport to the local community is estimated at more than $30 million annually. Additionally, the event will focus on educating and encouraging young people to consider careers in the areas of robotics, aviation and aerospace.
