Thomas and Helen Fanning are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary on June 16.
The couple was married on June 16, 1951 in Lynwood, Calif. One week after marriage, Tom left for Korea for one year.
The Fannings lived in Garden Grove, Calif., until 1977, then they moved to Chico, Calif., and Minden in 2001.
They have three daughters and one son, all of whom live in California along with four grandsons, three great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons. Their next-to-oldest grandson passed away at age 5, and their middle daughter passed away nine years ago.
Tom and Helen, who are active in LifePoint Church in Minden, attribute their longevity to living a Christian life and having respect for each other.
