8:50 update: A fire is currently burning near the Galena Creek Bridge below I-580 south in Pleasant Valley. According to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center the fire was reported at 6:58 p.m. According to Truckee Meadows Fire the fire is estimated at 30-acres.
No structures are threatened at this time. State and federal resources are responding. The Nevada Highway Patrol hasn’t said if I-580 will be closed at this time.
