Carson City road report Feb. 29 to March 6

The following information applies to the period of Feb. 29 to March 6.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 29, through Friday, March 4, there will be lane closures with flagger-controlled traffic on College Parkway just east of Airport Road and at the intersection of College Parkway and Dale Drive, due to utility work.

Washington Street will be closed between Curry and Phillips streets Monday through Wednesday, and between Carson and Stewart streets Thursday and Friday, due to the construction of the East/West Water Transmission Project. Bus stops on Washington Street at Plaza Street will be temporarily closed beginning Thursday and Friday.

There will be intermittent closures during daytime hours weekdays on Proctor, Telegraph, and Spear streets between Carson and Nevada streets due to utility work. There will be intermittent closures on Curry Street between Musser and Robinson streets during this time, with possible night work.

On Monday, Feb. 29, Center Drive will be closed between Topsy Lane and Clear Creek Avenue. For the remainder of the week, one lane will be open on Center Drive with flagger-controlled traffic at the intersection with Topsy Lane.

Beginning Tuesday, March 1, through Wednesday, March 2, State Street will be closed to through traffic during daytime hours. Access to businesses will remain open.

Lane closures are expected at the following locations due to utility work:

Panamint Road near Furnace Creek Road

Presti Lane Monday through Wednesday

Sandy Circle; shoulder work on Thursday only

Race Track Road will be closed to through traffic between Bigelow and Schulz drives for the week.

There will be intermittent lane closures on King Street just west of Ormsby Boulevard. Minor delays are possible.

The Bellevue Road bridge over I-580 in Washoe Valley will continue to be closed due to maintenance. The overpass and ramps are expected to be closed for approximately three months. Detours will be signed.

Utility work will begin the week of Monday, March 7, on the Downtown Corridor improvement project on Carson Street. Lane closures will be in place at that time and more details will be forthcoming.
