Nevada Appeal at 150: May 31, 1912: Death of Wilbur Wright is world’s loss

Wilbur Wright, the real inventor of the flying machine, the man who made it possible to fly, died at his home in Dayton, Ohio, yesterday. He has been ill for some time with typhoid fever and doctors the past week have held out small hope for his recovery.

Papers throughout the world are printing obituaries of this noted American. His death is to be regretted by the entire world.

This continues the Appeal’s review of news stories and headlines during its Sesquicentennial year.
